Raccoons can be seen anywhere on any given day. They will eat anything they can get their hands on. Raccoons have 3 favorite places to live including tree holes, fallen logs, and your attic. Female raccoons give birth once a year from 1 to 7 cubs. The raccoon babies stay put for the first two months of their lives which can cause a lot of noise and damage if your attic is their life staging area.
Raccoons are well known for cunning ability to get unlock their way into any area. Laboratory tests have shown they can remember the steps to unlock up to seven different devices even when presented with them weeks later. The only time you will see less of them outdoors is when they stay indoors during the winter. If you are hearing noises in your attic on a regular basis in the winter than a group of raccoons has more than likely made a winter vacation spot out of your attic. The typical life span of a raccoon in an urban environment is 2 to 3 years.
